Ahi les dejo esa perla
para que lo mediten el fin de semana...
So, will he dump 21st century socialism...
...and begin building 21st century marxism?
This is just getting sadder.
Follower of clownism
Marxism, Christianism, Sucrism, Martianism (is this for Jose Marti or Martians?) Soponge Bobism. WHAT A CLOWN!!!
Is this as embarrassing for everyone as it is for me? I really feel sorry for the guy and the idiots that applaud him with a solemn face as he releases his rant of incoherencies... it’s just getting worse by the minute.

Marxism
This is all leading up to changing the constitution and declaring the PSUV the only legitimate party to represent the people. Don't hold your breath waiting for those elections. Chavez isn't worried about losing them, because they won't ever happen.
Marxista y cristiano?
Corrijanme si me equivoco, pero alguien que le avise que los marxistas son ateos... y el se proclama cristiano y marxista
How Chavez holds to power is
How Chavez holds to power is beyond my logic. They country is truly falling apart. I dont know how or when, but without water, electricity and empty shelves at the super, Chavez doesn't survive the year. Not even Jesus Christ could survive running such a bad government.
On other topic, are they really listening to what they clap for? or they automatically clap every time Chavez stops speaking for more than 3 seconds?
By Juan
um... er... He is following...
...the Castro model. It's a proven fomula.
And no, they don't listen, they just clap and are afraid. It's the society Chavez wants and promotes that of the afraid.
Blatant contradictions are the opiate of the chavistariat...
o no?
It's more subtle than that...
Wikipedia's article on "Newspeak" (the term from Orwell's "1984"):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newspeak
(And if anyone haven't read "1984" by now, you should correct that mistake immediately. And read the "V for Vendetta" comic too while you're at it. Better than the movie.)
The Wiki on "Lingua Tertii Imperii":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTI_-_Lingua_Tertii_Imperii
The latter is a book written by a Jewish man in Germany during the rise of Hitler that "studies the way that Nazi propaganda altered the German language to inculcate people with National-Socialist ideas."
Agree on V for Vendetta. The
Agree on V for Vendetta. The movie was transformed into Republicans vs. Democrats, while the graphic novel had tons of layers of complexity, and it is mostly about anarchy and fascism.

Marx must be turning over in his grave.
Oh, man! This is just awful...
http://www.noticias24.com/actualidad/noticia/139693/yo-asumo-el-cristian...
He calls himself a marxist but he admits that he hasn't read The Capital yet.
Paraphrasing Jeff Albertson (Comic Book Guy):
WORST. MARXIST. EVER!

Communicational Hegemony FAIL!
What to me was the interesting part of the video
What struck me about the video wasn't that Chavez declared himself a Marxist - it is just more empty rhetoric to accompany all the other meaningless words that come out of his mouth.
Rather, what struck me was the applause. It was quite weak and very tentative. It was as if people weren't sure if they should be happy and applaud but then thought about it for a second and realized that they should be in shit loads of trouble if they didn't applaud - so they applauded. Half heartedly.
Obviously, that audience didn't contain many committed Marxists. If it had there would have been a standing ovation and Chavez would have had to pause for a while before he could be heard again.
But there weren't Marxists there. Just sycophants and opportunists who will claim to believe whatever Chavez tells them they should believe.
Pretty strong evidence of how ideologically bankrupt this all is.
From the start
I have never seen such a "Revolution" where there is such a need to compensate the lack of real meaning by wearing more red baseball caps, red shirts, red trousers, red shoes, red underwear...if you go through old Soviet magazines, you won't ever see as many people dressed in red as in Venezuela: not in the Soviet Union of Lenin times, not in any stage of the Stalinist ones, not during Khrushev, Brevhnez times...and not even in china (where the Han always used a lot of red) or North Korea, cuba or Vietnam.
I also found the applause weak. These guys, at least some of them, must be feeling very cheap. I wonder who applauded the most among them. Some did not applaud at all and I don't think only from the Podemos group. I wonder if they were guests (some were in the background)
Good pick up.
I reviewed the video and I couldn't see ANYONE in the superior levels applauding and several of those in front of Chavez were not applauding
"asumo el marxismo!... lo asumo... como asumo el cristianismo... y asumo el bolivarianismo... y el martianismo y el sandinismo y el sucrismo y el mirandismo..."
... con mucho CINISMO!
Asume también...
... el malandrismo, y el machismo, y el caudillismo, y el homosexualismo, y el narcisismo, y el tercermundismo, y el analfabetismo, y el militarismo, y el autoritarismo, y el ...
OW,
Talk about ideologically
OW,
Talk about ideologically bankrupt!! You, one day a ardent Chavez supporter and the next day in the opposition camp, a supporter of Chinese sweatshops and South Korean dictatorships, are about as ideologically bankrupt as they come my friend!
Recycle?
Deja vu or did we already see this video a long time ago? When was this recorded?
last night,
again not in cadena
Cult leader
I don't particularly care whether he calls himself a Marxist or a Socialist or a Commie or whatever, but that bit at the end about God's kingdom on Earth sounds like something a crazy cult leader would say. (before he has his followers kill themselves)
Of the...
Grouchoist tendency, I guess
Disagree
Groucho Marx was clever and funny. There is nothing amusing about Chavez.
fatal humor
I agree with Roy.There is nothing amusing about Chavez.
I will go further and say it is not good for us to train our humor to see him in a humorous light either. For Many years, and still today, and to some extent, Chavez gains power BECAUSE so many are laughing instead of being serious.
Firepigette
the basset hound blues
When a narco terrorist FARC ally arms supplier drug dealing loud mouth needs to improve his image:
He dons a basset hound costume to start off on a serious and sad look in order to create an impression that he is a Christian confessing his sins and assuming the truth.
Look how he hangs his head for affect. He is acting. He looks both serious, and sad at first.
Being a Marxist/christian whatever will gather him more honor than the foul stinking hole of just messing up the economy and covering up for the FARC...
In the end he can properly show indignation because he has already given himself the excuse to ( at least in his mind and in the mind of the cons and of the folks who would never dare go against that which he proclaims now to be)
As an extreme narcissist/ sociopath he will not register the real emotional reaction of others. It is sufficient for him is owns emotions. For those sufficiently narcissistic to live vicariously through him( their mirror)it will work, but for the rest of us it seems totally preposterous.
We cannot underestimate his Marxism
Hugo Chávez is no Ludovico Silva. Naturally, he clings and fosters a sort of "Marxist Vulgata" (for those who have not even read Das Kapital), which is easy to do: Marxism -as a system of ideas- has that strange quality to be interpreted and promoted in very different levels of abstraction and complexity. From hard-bound 5,000 page theses, to "estampitas" and red baseball caps with the visage of Che, Fidel, Chávez and Bolívar as the "Fantastic 4".
But, as Isaiah Berlin said, Marx would have gotten a B- in philosophy, a C in economics, and an A in politics. Marxism, more than an economic school, more than a theory of history and society, is a political creed and manual, an an intellectual approach to siphon out power from society to its leaders -in this case, a vanguard of self appointed revolutionaries.
When Chavismo built its own winning coalition back in the 1990s, it included people from all of the anti-party sides, left and right, who thought that a stern hand would lead us out of the mess, possibly without a day of reckoning. In any case, the old marxist left wing of the coalition has prevailed (as its leader was THE leader of the pack), and they believe -despite the chicanery, prevarication and corruption of many- they are creating a socialist revolutionary dream (which means, to most, that there will be no more bourgeoisie, no more bad rich people): "Of course, in the beginning, this cannot be effected except by means of despotic inroads on the rights of property, and on the conditions of bourgeois production..." (Communist manifest, II).
We should take this Marxism seriously, as it ultimately wants to deprive society of power through its own means. As Salvador de la Plaza said back in 1928, noting that Venezuela was, at heart, a country strewn of liberal beliefs, so that liberal actions were means to an end: "... nosotros no debemos esperar como tu entiendes, a que se puedan formar fuerzas en el interior que por sí solas, puedan derrocar la tiranía que apoyan los dos imperialismos… el trabajo dentro de Venezuela como base, hemos llegado a la conclusión que hay que empezar por impulsar a la pequeña burguesía a que derroque a Gómez para luego, dentro de su Estado, a base de sus propias aspiraciones de libertad de pensamiento, reunión, etc., poder nosotros cumplir nuestra misión." (letter to Ricardo Martínez, august de 1928).
Whatever Chavez is, in any case, he can never be mistaken for someone who believes in liberty and limited power.
FARC
Has anyone thought about the possibility of FARC taking over Venezuela if Chavez falls?
reply to Bois
Bois ... I have though of it
The FARC and ALLIES..the fist thing we need to do is expose all those connected ...
