Juan will get to the politics of all this later. For now, I’d just like to point this out: it’s not even 7 p.m. on election night in Chile, and the fat lady already sang, took her bow, and is now chilling backstage with the crew. Voting stations closed at 5:00 p.m. By 6:14 p.m., 60% of the votes had been officially counted. Not electronically, mind you: by hand. Projections suggest Piñera will win by an extremely narrow margin, but the governing party candidate already conceded. And nobody at all has used any four letter words to describe the opposition’s victory.

Imagínate!
