Romero & the neighbors, Daniel mourns, and the brave Yoani

A quick heads-up on four excellent articles:

– Simón Romero has a couple of terrific articles, one about Antanas Mockus and the Colombian elections, and another, better one, about the road between Georgetown, Guyana, and Brazil, complete with references to Georgetown’s canals and jaguar attacks. I’m a sucker for reportage about infrastructure.

– Fellow blogger Daniel has an inspired, first-hand chronicle on the rape of La Carolina. Great stuff.

– The New York Review of Books, on the future of Cuba.
