BkdNq55CEAAO-ba.jpg largeOn the night of April 4th, press photographers who were covering protests in Caracas were attacked by armed security personnel from the building that houses the Prisons Ministry (seen in the picture). Apparently, they didn’t wear or have any form of visible ID at the time. They fired anti-riot shells at the press.

In the incident, Colombian photojournalist Miguel Gutierrez, who works for the Spanish news agency EFE was wounded. Fellow photographer Boris Vergara lost part of his equipment thanks to the shots.

Meanwhile, Johana Álvarez, one of the journalists attacked by masked thugs inside the UCV campus the day before, shared her experience in CadenaTres, the Mexican TV channel she works for. The full interview is below:
