A brief note about the coming weeks
As many of you know, I live in Chile. February is the time for summer vacation in Chile. February is also the month that Venezuelans who live back home choose to go crazy and throw coups, marches, guarimbas and epic looting sprees.
That makes my life somewhat difficult.
So, for the next few weeks, Caracas Chronicles will continue, but posting will be somewhat on the light side – unless all hell breaks loose … which it probably will … right smack in the middle of my vacation.
In the meantime, I’ll be in Ann Arbor, Miami, and Orlando. If you’d like to have coffee at Espresso Royale or cachitos or arepas at El Arepazo or Don Pan (I’ve never been, and I’m looking forward to going), send me a line at nageljuan at gmail. I always enjoy meeting readers.
Caracas Chronicles is 100% reader-supported.
We’ve been able to hang on for 22 years in one of the craziest media landscapes in the world. We’ve seen different media outlets in Venezuela (and abroad) closing shop, something we’re looking to avoid at all costs. Your collaboration goes a long way in helping us weather the storm.
