The law in Venezuela says that voting centers close at six pm unless there are voters standing in line.

But what is a little bitty thing like the law when there is a revolution to defend?

The National Elections Council has decided that voting centers are to remain open until 7 pm. This has prompted a furious response from the opposition because, as you can imagine, chavismo is now going door to door to bring wary voters to the polls.

Flaunting the law has been the mark of chavismo. It’s been something we’ve had to deal with for the past sixteen years. You’d figure we’d be used to it by now … but it still hurts when they do it.
