  1. It is official, the OAS is a dysfunctional useless naive body, alien to any sense of urgency and reality.
While they acknowledge the issues, they still believe in a “Dialog and Negotiations” with a group of violent criminals that have never shown any signs of respect for the rule of law and its own citizens, even under tread and overwhelming opposition.
Lets not forget that many diplomats insisted in Dialog & Negotiations with Hitler, Stalin, Hussein, Pol Pot, etc

There is a reason why almost all countries spend crazy amounts of money in weapons, diplomacy is great but has its limits.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
Fool me tree times, I am a fool and deserve this.

    • There is a saying that goes, “When all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.” They are diplomats! All they have to offer is diplomacy and dialogue. It is what they do. If you want something else, you will have to look for it somewhere else.

  2. It is high time that the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela and some Caricom states pay the dues they own to the OAS. I propose that If the state is delinquent, its voice might be heard, but the vote should not count.

Arguably, the US tax dollars could be better allocated, rather than being used to facilitate a venue for retired/soon to be retired bureaucrats on a long term vacation ( good restaurants and attractions in town!).

The 800 lb gorilla for the OAS: 90% of the Americas are being held hostage by a few states, mostly in the fringe. The value of the US vote is the same as the vote of a tiny state in the Caribbean with fewer than 50,000 people. Need we say more? Enough!
