Show The Tallies
Tuesday saw Machado and Edmundo’s “citizens’ assembly” in Chacao and a crackdown on spontaneous protests, especially in low-income urban areas like 23 de Enero, Caricuao and Petare. Hundred of protesters and activists were detained, including Voluntad Popular leader Freddy Superlano. The opposition also announced it already has 81% of the tallies and showed its results -even on the regional and municipal level- in a new website. The U.S. and Brazil are now asking for the tallies to be shown too and the Carter Center released a harsh statement about the electoral conditions. Meanwhile, Maduro and Rodríguez are threatening González and Machado with jailed.
